The Waddell Family was at Leatherwood for our daughter's
wedding and we were very pleased with the service and
accommodations at Leatherwood! When we checked in at
Leatherwood we received the welcome you would receive
while visiting relatives. At check-in, we received
information that gave us all we needed to know about
Leatherwood leaving us not wanting for anything. The
home "Peaceful Horizon" was absolutely outstanding and
we plan to comeback to Leatherwood for additional
visits. The home and landscape was clean and well
maintained. We found Leatherwood to be one of the best
kept secrets in Wilkes County and northwestern North
Carolina. Our wedding guests found Leatherwood to have
many activities to get involved with from horseback
riding, hiking, fishing or just watching nature.
Facilities, housing and landscape was well maintained
and wildlife was unlimited. The staff at Leatherwood are
the best! They all had the can do attitude and did
anything within reason to make our stay pleasurable. The
Waddell Family plan on coming back to Leatherwood during
upcoming holidays and vacations.
Our son and daughter-in-law were married at Leatherwood
in June 2010. Our family stayed in Hidden Falls for the
weekend celebration. We also hosted the Rehearsal Dinner
at our cabin. The home was spacious and beautiful. The
kitchen was well-stocked. The covered porch in the back
was exactly what we needed to entertain. We thoroughly
enjoyed our stay. The views were breathtaking and the
staff could not have been more accommodating. Thank you
to everyone at Leatherwood Mountains.

Nancy,
Your friendly smile and accommodating manner to the many
questions and requests i had last week in preparation
for the wedding was so appreciated. I had to wrote
to say thanks!
Our experiences at Leatherwood and our house rentals exceeded every dream
a mother has of the last days before the wedding and the
giving away of her daughter. I know the calmness
and relaxation each of us felt could not have been
achieved back in Raleigh, NC at our home.
Leatherwood frees you and takes you back to the basic "heart to heart"
connection with each other & God the Creator. What
wonderful memories are now connected for me here at
Leatherwood. I imagine we will spend many
vacations here in years to come!

Abbie,
I want to thank you so much for all your help in making
Bianca & Jeremiah's wedding the most beautiful wedding I
and everyone who attended said they had ever been to. I
can't even find the words to express our gratitude for
you and all the staff. I would recommend to anyone to
have a wedding at Leatherwood or just stay there. You
and your staff bent over backwards with everything from
the horses, keeping the restaurant open for us to eat
lunch, letting us turn in the tux's to you, helping out
with the cabin arrangements, the use of the sales office
for the bathroom and on and on. Again, thank you so
much.

Abbie,
Well, we are back to reality from the most wonderful wedding/honeymoon
anyone could ask for. Even though our wedding was
small, you, Donna and everyone else at the Welcome
Center made us feel like it was the most magnificent
thing that has ever happened! Me,
Brian and the whole family were treated like family and
we had a terrific time. Thank you for referring us to
Debbie DeVita – she was outstanding! She was so
professional and so much fun and fit right in with our
small group. We have some of the best photos I’ve ever
seen. We enjoyed her so much.
We are spreading the word about Leatherwood to everyone we know and
meet. It’s not often these days that a person can find
serenity but we found it at Leatherwood. We believe
that Leatherwood is what it is because of you and all
the others there.
Thank you so very much for helping to make our dream come true, our
memories of our wedding and honeymoon at Leatherwood
will be cherished forever. We will be back!!!!!

Dear Abbie,
I just wanted to thank you for all your hard work with
helping us make our wedding a success! It was exactly how we
wanted it and we couldn't of done it without you.
Because of our
great experience at Leatherwood, we always recommend others
to visit and stay at your cabins. We really
couldn't of picked a better, more relaxing place for
ourselves or our guests. You are truly great at your
job and your co-workers are amazing too. Thanks again
for everything! We hope to visit soon and we are
expecting a baby!

Dear Abbie,
The compliments continue to pour in! Leatherwood Mountains was a hit with our wedding guests! Everyone thought the location was outstanding!
Now, after staying there for a few days I am convinced it has all the relaxation powers you advertise in your brochures. As the parents of the bride, we were not relaxed when we drove in the gates last Wednesday night, but as we turned we left our stress at Elk Creek Darby Road. From that point on, we were in your competent hands.
You and all the staff at Leatherwood made us feel welcome and confident you had the details for the wedding in place immediately when we arrived. Sue Bridgers and Nancy in the Welcome Center put together a packet of information for our guests that guided everyone to their cabins on arrival and provided them with a directory of cabin phone numbers for our guests. That proved to be extremely helpful! They were our message center the entire weekend, not only taking messages but making sure they were delivered. I walked in to the Welcome Center one afternoon while the phones were all ringing and Nancy was calmly giving directions to a guest. There wasn’t a trace of impatience in her voice!
The wedding went off without a hitch! I am thanking you for that! All I had to do was walk in and sit down. I don’t know any Mother of the Bride who can say that! From our first meeting with you a year ago you have been quietly but efficiently solving all the little problems for us.
Thank you for allowing us to enjoy our daughters wedding without the burden of completing the details. You thought of it all and got it all done.
The reception went equally as smooth. Gadabouts service was wonderful. Lisa Kyles flowers were beautiful. The DJ kept the party moving. Our guests had fun and said so many times over.
The list of people you recommended to do the job were dependable and easy to work with..
The lighting in the reception barn was great! It set the mood for the party. The lighting in the rafters gave the effect I was hoping for!
Our thanks to your husband Hugh for moving tables, setting up chairs and moving more tables.
What a great group of people! As our wedding coordinator you were dependable, reliable, thoughtful and fun to work with. Throughout, you listened to our ideas and then implemented them ! Every single person at Leatherwood made me feel welcome including the stable hands who were mucking the stalls! Those folks were working hard but their smiles and that extra little wave as they drove the tractor back to the barn were greatly appreciated! The restaurant staff gave us great food and great service! Our guests commented several times how good the food was and how much they appreciated the service as well as the convenience of the restaurant. These folks gave us directions when we needed them, a pleasant greeting to start our day and a place to gather for a meal with family over a plate of good food.
As you continue to grow in your business I hope you will always keep this positively relaxed, warm, friendly atmosphere. I feel like I’ve been on vacation at a four star resort! You made our daughter’s wedding memorable for the fun we had with family and friends inside the gates of Leatherwood Mountains! You made us feel welcome! Thank you.
