Leatherwood Mountains -Premier Fly-Fishing
Destination!
Opening
October 1st, 2011
We have some exciting news - a beautiful
1 mile
portion of Elk Creek that runs through Leatherwood Mountains
will be receiving over 1000 trout in the fall of 2011. We are on NC
Department of Natural Resources stocking schedule to get
Brook, Brown and Rainbow Trout in both October and November
2011.
This
fishing access has been graciously provided by Leatherwood
Rentals Inc. This portion of Elk Creek is managed by the
North Carolina Wildlife Commission under a cooperative
agreement with Leatherwood Mountains and Phil & Phil, LLC.
With the exception of guests of Leatherwood
Rentals Inc. :
1) Use of creek access for activities other
than FISHING is prohibited.
2) Parking is prohibited 30 minutes after
sunset until 30 minutes before sunrise.
3) Anglers are restricted to wading in or
walking along Elk Creek banks.
4) Anglers must park in designated GRAVEL LOT only.
